NICE through the Tilitonse Foundation project called strengthening local governance for improved service delivery through civic innovations and crowdsourcing is conducting awareness and orienting  duty bearers on the process of engagement with citizens using ICT based platform called Mzinda Wanga.NICE with its technology partner mHub is training Karonga district council and in attendance, notable offices represented  were  Director of Planning Development, District Health Officers, District Education Manager, Police, DADO and so forth. It is envisaged that the Mzinda platform will contribute towards improving citizen participation and engagement through which citizens are empowered to report issues concerning service delivery using basic SMS on 0888 242 063 (TNM) and 0994 437 847 (Airtel) through which are reported on the platform for the duty bearers to respond on. By the end of the day NICE will citizens are given a chance to interface with duty bearers to ask on developmental issues that affects them for redress.

Duty bearers were trained on how they can respond to queries reported by citizens through an ICT platform without necessary going to the communities to hold an interface meeting .

The training will also go to Mzuzu City, Kasungu, Lilongwe City, Balaka , Blantyre City and Thyolo disctricts where NICE is implementing the district.
